So how do you guys deal with the guilt and sadness you get from snapping and getting mad at loved ones belligerently. It always feels like a consent never ending cycle I can't control. How to cope?

The thing about meds is I'm really stubborn and don't like taking them. I know that most people with Bipolar have to be on it for life. I wish it wasn't true. Such a draining disorder
Pretty sure anyone who cares about you and knows what bipolar disorder does to people will understand that you don't mean it. Just apologize and it should be fine.

Explain to your loved ones who don't know that it is the condition that is talking when you're being an ass and not you, and beg their indulgence. And always apologize afterwards.

Funny comments about your friends being comprehensive... I told two of my best friends about my disorder a few years ago. One year after they couldn't handle my manic side and betrayed me. Since then I haven't told almost anyone about my disorder.
Bipolar disorder is basically a lack of control. Your executive function is diminished and your lower level brain functions take over. You can fix this by practicing things which work those areas of the brain. The easiest one to do is increasing sustained focus via meditation. When you combine regular exercise with meditation it becomes even more effective.
