Should I join the navy?
I'm disappointed with where my life is and where it's going.
I'm 23 y/o who just finished college with a CS degree. CS bores me and I'm not even good at it. After two internships, I don't think I could stand working as an actual coder anymore even if I were to land a well paying job. I have no friends, live alone with a computer, and am currently putting off looking for a job until I run out of the ~8000 dollars I have left from my internships.
On a slightly related note, my grandfather was in the navy in WW2 and was crewing one of the ships present during the signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender.

I've been depressed, suicidal, been self destructive and had lead my life nowhere but I'm joining the air force soon and I'm pretty excited and looking forward to it.
The initial fear goes away quickly, do your research and if you like what you see then go for it.

You don't have to just code. You can apply for any job really, people will assume if you handled CS you can do lots of things assuming you are sociable and not autistic (the bar for this is lower than you think.)
I mean you can go join the Navy but it isn't necessarily solve your underlying issues. I'll never understand why someone especially in your position being educated would willingly go and have orders barked at them all day.
Still though people make a good living there I suppose. I'd try to figure out what is holding yourself back before I'd suggest you signing your life away for 4ish years.
