I used to think that it was a given that anything is confidential unless expressly permitted to be repeated.
I really was surprised when I found out most people do not think like this.
Most people use other peoples secrets to boost their own standing.
Now I don't even want to hear most things people want to tell me because I expect not to tell anyone anything myself.

I know the people I can trust because I do little gossip things with them to others and see if it leaks around. Some do, and some don't. The best one for me is a girl I know. Same here. There's a girl in my college who I'm really best friends with. No I don't have any other intentions on her. I have told her how I felt about her the day I saw her and how I had a crush on her. The crush eventually vanished and she told that was good admitting it. No problem. I even shared my porn and fap addiction with her and she was glad to help me with any problem that comes up. She's like a walking treasure chest of mine.
