I chose not to do this big exam without a good reason but when I get back to class I will be asked why I didn't go and I just have to present a believable not dumb excuse.
I don't want them to apply the exam to me again, I just want an excuse so I can explain to them my dumb behavior so that they leave me alone.

You say "issues at home" or "personal matters". The prof won't push it. If your peers do, tell them you're not comfortable discussing it.
If you suffer consequences anyway they have no right to know why exactly you never showed up.
