just block it and don't look back. if you're here for more than 10 minutes a day you're essentially wasting time

this is pretty much correct. if there is one professional on 4chan there is a a million fools to match him. good luck sorting the stupid from the smart if your not already smart.
the internet is a poor resource for learning, in general. too much conflicting info.

I think you're trying to sell yourself the kool aid. The most you can say is you will get a cynical perspective on a lot of topics (which can be useful) and that it's a decent place to check during big news (not just political) in order to get a bigger picture than you could just from a media source. That's about it.

When I fell in love with a girl it immediately made me realize that it was a cesspool of negativity. Now that I've had my heart broken I'm back because I have no friends or life.

Install the extension stayofocusd (no botnet) and only block 4chan and the extension page. Allow yourself 20 minutes or whatever amount you deem apropriate. It makes you type in a huge text when you want to change to settings to become more liberal, so you don't cheat out of impulse. This should solve at least timewasting problem.

Ive blocked 4chan on my computer by editing the host file, its my phone that I need to block it on. Can't edit that file without rooting my phone and I'm not sure if I won't fuck up my phone if I try to.
