I feel like every time I meet a great girl, for one reason or another, it can't realistically work. Is it common to meet the right person at the wrong time, or do I just have shit luck?

context is key here.
The whole soul mate thing is a meme, anon. Enjoy life while you can

Just generally wondering if it is a common reason why things don't work
For me recently, one girl was my boss, one my best friend's ex, and another was 16

>dont work
again, context is key. do you mean you dont end up together? or that you break up? what?
>>18131444
Sorry, I mean don't end up together

its confusing cuz when you say 'it can't realistically work' it doesn't tell us any of the story.
so you mean you dont end up dating. now in some examples you state position of power and age as a reason, but be honest, in the case of your boss, your best friend's ex or the 16 year old, did any of them actually like you? like enough that there was at least some making out before it 'fell apart' or what have you?

The boss was only flirting, the friend's ex and the 16 yo both made out at one point, and I cut it off realizing that it didn't make sense to see either

ive had shit luck with 8 people in a row, keep smiling man

okay, so the closest thing we have to a common denominator here is you deciding to end things out of complication.
not that I would have made different decisions but you must know that romance isn't simple, its not easy, and its certainly not convenient. there is a reason why people move across the country and dedicate themselves to one another: because its worth it.
the girls are 'great' but the fact of the matter is that you chose not to pursue these women. its not a matter of what the norm is or luck, you simply havent met a girl worth actually dating by your own account.
Don't worry anon, nothing seems to work out for me either. I've had a pretty bad stint over the past 7 months or so, even with girls where I was sure they liked me.
Keep your chin up and keep looking, you'll find someone right for you eventually.
