I'm a pretty awkward person, so I need some basic advice. How can I tell if someone of the same gender is trying to be friendly or is trying to ask me out?
I was in the gym the other day and someone came up to me. They said they've seen me around work and we had a quick little conversation. Next day they message me on our work Skype, asking to have lunch, I said sure and we sat down and talked about video games and shit. Now, I get a Skype message at work from him asking if I want to out to eat or get a drink after work.
Is there a way to tell? They didn't talk about anything gay but I just keep getting these creepy vibes.

I think he is likely gay.
I had a friend who I ate lunch with for over a year who initially bonded with me over a mutual interest of xbox. After well over a year, when I had gone to a different college he came out as gay over facebook. From then it became clear that he had been crushing over me for the past couple of years. He was a nice kid and I think he just wanted to be close to me even if I wasn't gay. I felt really bad for him, I almost sucked his cock just out of pity.
Anyway, your story reminds me of the aforementioned lad.
