Melbourne Ausfag here. Just got an interview with an employer who emailed me to say "Be at this address with your passport and police check."

Police check? I thought it was the responsibility of the employer to conduct those. Also, I've heard they're pretty expensive. Do I have to trundle down to the cop shop and get this myself?

Some employers do it to be nice, some are cheap and will make you do it. I would get it done right away though because they can take a week or two to come back
