I'm not here for advice. And I know this is very much against the rules here. But I just want to ask about something I rarely get the privilege of experiencing.
- What's it like to have friends and general relationships?
My mental illness, way too often, costs me all of that.
it's alright. but what sucks more is having them and then losing them. don't let anyone ever tell you it's better to have loved and lost.

Agree 100%.
Nothing like being knocked off the padestol to learn you are alone.
I'm your friend, anon. No matter what may be causing you trouble, the world is better with you in it. :)

Even though you didn't ask for it, here is some potential advice.
I had trouble ever making connections to others because I was constantly trying to be normal and ignore any mental illness I have. When I finally hit rock bottom after a lot of therapy and medication, I stopped trying against it and started learning how to live alongside it.
Now I have relationships with others because I let my issues be known, explained them as well as possible and met people willing to accept them instead of wasting my time and sanity attempting to form relationships with people that would never accept me.
No matter what there are people out there who would be your friend.
