18/m here. Living with single mother who I just discovered is pregnant. I graduate in June and currently don't have a job. What is the fastest way to cut ties with her before she ruins any potential future I have?
If it's your kid she's pregnant with, she isn't the one who is going to ruin your potential future. You are.
Man up, accept responsibility. If she's okay with an abortion, help pay for it. If she's not, accept your mistakes and be a father to your kid.
Either way, you're going to have to mature in a hurry.

Not my kid. She been sleeping with a family friend whos house we recently moved out of.
Honestly don't know if she'll keep it, as she doesn't know that I know.

Ah, good man. If she's not pregnant enough to show, you've got plenty of time to gtfo. If you have a job, I'd work your ass off and put as much back as you can. Find yourself an apartment somewhere. Don't look back.

Oh, you are one of nature's true gentlemen, aren't you?

If it's not your kid what's the fucking problem?

Taking on a 'parental role' can be justification for taking child support money in some places, I think that's what OP's getting at.

Also, most states allow the mother to put in any name for the father that she wishes on the birth certificate. She could always claim he's the father. The only way the OP could counter that is to go to a judge and have a paternity test ordered. Then, an ensuing legal mire of getting his name off the certificate. Meanwhile, he's going to be labeled a deadbeat by everyone that knows him.
