Dear /abby/,
I'm faced with a difficult decision regarding a future career fork.
At the moment, I work at a brewery doing site maintenance for the brewery proper, the associated mall, a few of the tenants, and a deli, cafe and a bar. There is a lot of electric, well-known musical acts that are involved with the bar. There are opportunities for me to weld, build (carpentry), engineer, and hospo (but I'm not really interested in the last one) with knowledgeable people with the correct tools.
A friend is seriously contemplating buying a local comic book store and has asked me if I wanted to manage it. I'm not as big on comics, but I know my basics. The other /tg/ related stock (board games, PnP RPGs, wargames) are my main hobby. It looks like it's a solid investment, and with the right type of community outreach and my skills, it could become profitable for me personally.
What should I do?
It take a lot to get a comic book shop established. And, even then, the profit margin is extremely low. Meanwhile, you've got a good thing going already that involved communicable skills.
It really depends on where you think you'd be happier.

Comics are dying man, the industry gets its profits from movies now. Keep the job you have unless you want to financially struggle all your life
