I stopped for like a year. I was working out. I did it partly to keep myself motivated for work outs but there was some study saying that people who did intense workouts had lower libido.

I did 6 months, through my teenage years I was going 2 - 3 times a day. I consciously made an effort to cut down, holding out for 1 week, failing, 2 weeks, failing. Repeatedly kept going 1 month at a time. Went 6 months this year.

Motivation was a pretty strong porn addiction, which I still have to some extent. The problem is that when I jack off I go for 4+ hours and can't really stop myself.

The real effects of a 6 month celibacy were:
- Hair felt thicker (less thinning)
- Became numb to emotions (nervousness, fear)
- Social skills get better
- Started to feel unhealthy at somewhere around the 3 month mark, a certain feeling of tension in what I think is the prostate area
And I think I have "damaged" my sex drive in some way by going so long, it is now easy to go celibate for 2 months at a time.
