I actually do this often, go to the mall with my laptop, to a park with my book and just do my work.
1) I am more productive.
2) I secretly hope women will approach me.
As you have guessed, women never approached me in this fashion, but at least I can look at them and admire.
OP, if you want to be approached, go out on Friday night and just lurk around. This has been the most yielding approach, if you go out every Friday like this (especially in parks, where people drink or around night clubs) and look average, I guarantee you will get at least 1 approach a month.
