Keeping it short so it's faster read. Rescued her from trash can in the cold Monday. Has been living with us for 2 days. Very attached to me already to the point my dad stands up she growls if he gets close to me she attacks and barks at him. She is very nice to every other family's member except him, pretty sure she was abused then abdandon by a guy similar scent or look to my dad. She is POTTY TRAINED, and SPAYED! She was obviously being taken good care of do we don't know why she got like this but she is a 1 year old black and white mutt medium sized.... please help!!! If we can't figure out how to stop her from freaking out we will have to give her back to the people who found her
Let them see each other more and more every day

And let the dog see you and dad being friendly - sitting together, etc.

Try this. You, dad and dog in the same room. Talk to your dad in a calm way, and he must answer in the equally. The emotional state before, during and after this session is very important. Don't start thinking that the dog is going to be nervous, just do it well. Your dog can feel when you are not in a comfy mood.

whenever your dad comes into her field of vision, give her something delicious to eat. every time. eventually, she will associate him with delicious food, and she wont get all butthurt when he comes around.
What previous anons have suggested. Have him slowly inch closer and praise and reward her when she stays calm. If she starts growling and attacking, have your dad back up and start again from a point where she's calm.
Also, have him feed her.
