This is my first time animating, I think I had too much fun. Any tips on how to get better?

depends on what kind of animation you want to be known for. if you plan to stick ti pixels i can't offer much. if you have other plans, give us the rundown and we'll point you in the right direction.
animations a lot of fun.

I quite like the pixel stuff but I also would like to eventually get a draw pad and the proper programmes and go from there

best you can do is practice drawing then and figure out what medium you like most. also figure out if you're comfortable with TRS animation

Practice. Do what you find interesting.
Check out the book Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair, has some great tips

Anywhere I can find more?

Dont worry about it.
Another thing that I'd say is not to put pressure on yourself. If its something you want to take seriously it will take you a long time to get good, there will be days that you get frustrated with your lack of improvement, but push onwards. You only lose if you quit.

A site called Piskel, pretty good for just making small pixel stuff
