charisma goes a long way, also depends alot on your age. as you get older the things you mention become more important but when youre a stupid teenager none of that shit matters, and you can carry that into adult life too

i worked in videogames for a while as a musician, one of the other guitar players i worked with was totally on the heap, in his 40's, his day job outside of this gig was teaching lessons, and when this gig went away thats what he was gonna go back to, paid less than shit. but his girl was this smart scientist type girl who was really pretty, he was just a cool guy and she liked him

This statement is meaningless. Having money is critical to living. You need money to survive. It is not unreasonable for another person to expect that you have the bare minimum required to sustain your life.

Living with your parents is acceptable through college. After that, if you're still living with them, you have failed in some capacity. Independence is a critical step in being a mature adult. People want to be in relationships with mature adults. A car is only necessary if you live in a place where public transit isn't the norm. You can't exactly go on a date with someone if you live in the middle of nowhere without a car or bus route. In that case, I suggest moving the fuck out of whatever shithole you live in.

Not unreasonable to want out of a mate. The purpose of relationships is to make them long term. Eventually have a family. It's a hell of a lot easier to raise a family on a good income.

Before anyone gets all salty and claims it's women who demand all of these qualities but they won't do it on their own. To that I say, stop going after useless, loser women. Plenty of women have their own income, their own place, their own independence. Demand better of yourself and your partner by only going after people who are willing to work hard for a good life.

yes, though i live in a city where having your own vehicle just isn't necessary.

Because unless your parents have some sort of disease where you are selflessly caring for them, you should have independence. Especially so if you have the money to do so. No adult in American culture at least should be living with their parents their whole lives unless there is some sort of circumstance where you must take care of them because they are incapable of doing so themselves.

Its not just about money, it's about being socially, emotionally, and physically independent.

I can say that this is patently false. I lost my virginity like when i was ~26 to a high-strung, ambitious asian chick with big knockers. Hell, she basically seduced ME: being the stupid virgin that I was, I actually believed she just wanted to see my penis (she ended up polishing my knob for half the night). This all happened while I was living with my folks.

Granted, things are always a lot easier when you have your own place and learning to be independent IS important, but it seems that this huge hangup over moving out of one's parents place is a white-people thing.

Well, my parents have the tradition reversed (mum's a CEO, dad's a teacher/ was a stay at home dad). They're happy and in love and stuff. It's not impossible.
