I applied for a job in a different city across the country. I was found suitable for it but they ran out of space in their intake and I was offered another role in my home city for the next 6 months while I wait to be placed in the next intake.
The thing is I like this new role and working in the city I grew up in is great, having friends and family here. Problem is it pays 80k while the role in 6 months pays 100k, and the path for promotions isn't nearly as good either.
I know this decision hinges on what I value more, but I want to hear your opinions on this. What would you guys value more, lesser pay with a "weaker" career path while staying near loved ones, or going for the career move? I'm single with no dependents so moving wasn't an issue.
Chances are, you're not going to stay with this company for the entirety of your working life. Stay where you are, there will be other opportunities
100k in 6 months. 6 months of vacation.

I'd go for the career move, but only because I'm friendless. 20k is a lot
