Has anyone here had a longterm illness...I've been sick for 8 years and was able to get slightly better each year, but now I'm suddenly back where I started. It's scary. There's no cure for what I have (but I won't die, I think). I'm mostly bedridden now. I was able to work part time before this. I have no independence due to needing my parents for food and help walking. I'm isolated from human contact aside from them. I loved drawing but can't sit up in the position to draw anymore. What should I do? Am I being punished for something?

I think God gives some people more trials than others, or at least different trials, because they have the ability to withstand them.
If you got healthy once, you can do it again.
I got very sick once when I was living in a slum and a lot of my hair shed and my skin got very bad and I felt so tired and anxious and sick all the time I could barely function. But somehow I got better. But it was very emotional and even remembering it hurts me.

Similar thing happened to me but it was an emotional illness. I was in an incredibly autistic state for 8 years. When I turned 21 suddenly the light switched on. My level of self-awareness is extremely high now. It's not going to happen tomorrow, but someday you'll be able to get up. And when you do, you'll have an oversight that very few people have.
