Since yesterday I've been having a bothersome canker sore, so I got a flashlight to look at it better in the mirror.
So, I discover this growth near the tonsil area. It doesn't hurt and it's got the color of flesh. But this growth is not present on the other side. Looks like a little protruding tongue of flesh.
I'm kinda scared. Have been reading and it could be a polyp, but I wouldn't like it to be something worse. Will set up an appointment with the doctor on Mon.

Dont freak out op I had the same thing and neither doc nor dentist thought it anything.
Keep an eye on it. If it gets bigger or changes color then it might be cancerous even then its likely benign. The only problem is if it were to get big enough to interfere with chewing/swallowing/breathing then just get it surgically removed. People get their tonsils out all the time same thing.

Pour a fuck load of salt into warm water and gargle it for 30 seconds. Do that a few times a day and it will get better.

If it starts to hurt, change color, grow, bleed or discharge pus, then give your local clinic a visit.
If you are a smoker I also advise to cut it out, just in case.

Could be HPV associated shit. Keep an eye on it, nothing too serious, nothing that needs immediate intervention, but it could grow/spread. Check again in two weeks. Also as >>18081066
said, if you get symptoms, visit a doc.
