Phobia is a fear without reason. Not wanting to spend the next 20 years paying for another man's baby is not without reason.

I'm a biologist, and I support adoption, so maybe I just don't get it. Nurture is more important than nature, so if you take a baby and raise it, it will be the child of the people who raised it, not the people who contributed genetic material to it. Would you rather have a child with your genetic material or a child whose life you are involved in and who has you as a role model and inculcates values from your example?
