She's like, legitimately autist? As in, diagnosed with autism? because if that's the case you may want to consider running, people with autism tend to be horrible in relationships. If she's only awkward act like she's just a normal girl, ask her out, do stuff together. You should consider dates that don't involve socializing, or being around too many people though, she'll probably be more at ease and willing to open up. Also be direct and unambiguous.

Autism is a spectrum so it's hard to judge, she may be fairly normal she may be hard to deal with.
I'd let her pick the restaurant for the first date as she knows what she likes and what she can handle.

Autism basically makes people socially retarded

funny part is I've dated an autistic girl before too, the way I got to her is talking about what she likes. Time goes on and she ends up learning more about me, and eventually gets comfortable. however, OP, ill tell you this, after a while, (unless you are devoted to her by then) she will probably get annoying, she might end up doing really stupid shit around other people, or in general embarrass you. but if you put the mental disorder aside, most people with Autism are very good and likable people, just don't know how to be social and end up being introverts

She's high functioning. But she's incredibly introverted. Sometimes sitting in silence when faced with multiple people. I saw her have a melt down, not much I could do so I got her water and tried to comfort her. She does this odd thing where she never talks to boys but lights up with girls.
