Just found a notice to vacate slipped under my door 6 days before the end of the goddamn month. Apparently my rent payment bounced but I had no fucking clue until today.

>Paid rent on the 6th
>Overdrafted account because paycheck hadn't processed yet
>It processed the morning of the 7th
>Leasing website says account balance 0 for two weeks
>account balance stayed above the $1000 payment until 3 days ago
>slammed with notice to vacate at 5pm today and no other warnings

I would have been able to pay it had I been notified back before I paid my next round of insurance and other shit earlier this week. Now I don't have the cash and they want me to pay or vacate by Friday. I'm terrified. the fuck do I do?

Did you get in contact with your bank about the issue? Inform your landlord immediately what happened. I mean, so far you paid always on time, didn't you? So if he/she has not a vacuum where his/her heart should be, they'll extend your due date for sure.

it's not my first late payment but I've always notified them if I needed extra time. I'm a contract worker, so I can't always expect my paycheck on the 1st or 2nd. This is the first time I've been served papers without the ability to pay immediately.
