Just look for open uni teaching positions in English departments in countries you might be interested in. I study English as a foreign language in uni atm and we have a few lecturers from different anglophone countries who come from similar backgrounds as you. If you have a solid job offer to back your visa up, you'll get in with no problem.

We don't want Eurocucks like you around. Enjoy your European socialism and likely permanent unemployment

my problem is that I don't travel to the EU until two months from now, and can't yet really compete for a job offer, which seems a prerequisite to any further action. Any thoughts? Thanks, by the way

If I remember correctly the current Eng Lit lecturer at my uni applied for the job while working in japan and moved over just when he was due to start. Most of the application process takes place online nowadays, so I'd recommend keeping an eye out already. From what I hear, at least some researcher and specific teaching positions are hard to find the suitable people for, so they're advertised for international applicants as well. It's academia, movable workforce and brain power is sorta of the whole point. I don't know how the actual process works though, so can't help you there.
>there are people smart enough to get a PHD but also dumb enough to ask for advice on 4chan

I'm with you, OP.
I hate that people are like "well if you hate it so much, leave," and I'm thinking "well I sure as hell would if I could actually emigrate without getting married."

yes! man, I have no idea how many times I've thought this to myself.

I know this feel all too well. It's even worse when you're 23 and just our of college with no career yet.

Protip: If you get a citizenship/work visa in an EU country, it allows you to do work in any EU country.
