Looks like I've misunderstood what hypnosis really is. But I'm happy there are benevolent things I can do for my girlfriend, like making her more relaxed, comfortable or assist in changing mindset about things (depression, anxiety, phobias) and maybe make her a stronger person

Despite what movies and cartoons would have you believe hypnosis doesn't make you into a mindless slave with no free will.

Now if you where to lock her in a room and torture her for months on end to mentally condition her then you might be more successful.
