Anyone know of any good books on the subject?
Ive been a fat my whole life and I want to lose it, but everytime I eat properly and count calories I lose motivation. I am also an constant procrastinator and generally am unhappy with life and feel like Im always stuck in the mud. Not depressed really, just have a total lack of motivation for some reason. child hood laziness/obesity pouring over into adulthood maybe?
Im 25 and plan on going into refrigeration, which Im happy with, but to be honest it wasnt my first pick, but I couldnt have my first pick, since I slacked so bad in highschool.
any advice would be appreciated.

Don't ask how to keep going, just keep going.
Counting calories is a good way to fail. First learn to cook yourself, you'd vesuprised how good healthy foods taste when you cook them how you like.
Get yourself some exercise. Do a few pushups sit-ups and squats each day, get your self a bile and go for a ride.
My friend I have a secret to share, will power can not be taught or give, only learnt and earned. But the greatest way to motivate yourself is to only compare yourself to yourself, you can always be a little better, take pride in being able to do just 1 more pushup than last week, take pride in the fact you took more than one attempt that in its self shoes your not willing to let you past benyour limit, remember that your only real competition is you.
Most importantly don't beat yourself up when you fall into old habits, instead help yourself up.
A saying that I have come to live by
A master has failed more times that a beginner has even tryed.
>You can so it, just believe in yourself

this, that image is stupidly misleading
Oh, and "Self discipline in 10 days" is a good book OP.
I also like to suggest "As a man Thinketh", though it's not about discipline, it's really insightful.
Easiest way to get discipline is to get a job, especially one that's fast paced.

Curious as to why you think counting calories is a quick way to failure, /fit/ says the opposite is true, not criticising, just curious. I also do home cook meals, though admittedly, I do eat out alot as well, it needs to stop, it ruins my diet, health and my budget. All good sounding advice to me though, thank you.

Never thought about the image that way until you pointed it out. Started reading that book last night(would've replied, but 4chan kept saying connection error) very interesting concepts in there. I havent even got to the 10 day portion of the book and i can already see what the book is tackling, and how it will help me improve. I will check the other one out later, have it bookmarked. Thank you.

Got one, Im on the road alot though, switching careers into refrigeration soon(as long as someone will take me as an apprentice) which will also keep me on the road alot, but should have me working fairly normal hours at least.
