hookups don't help desu, I'd say just try to move on by cutting her out your mind as best you can. I found it difficult but obviously setting goals and meeting them helps you move on with your life rather than dwelling on "what could've been"

He romanticized the chick and didn't see how badly she was actually treating him. Meanwhile he didn't focus on his own happiness. He settled by being a greeting card writer and he settled for Summer while imagining that she was the best thing that ever happened to him.

The point of change was when he started focusing on himself and aiming for something better than her. He followed his dream of being an architect and stopped pining after the girl who didn't share his values or really value him. He met a new girl who shared his values in life at the end as she was after the same job as him. And he told her he would beat her and get the job so he no longer put women on a pedestal above himself.

The point is to value yourself and never to settle. And if one does that one will be content with one's self and therefore will be more able to gauge the values of another.

You are like him at the beginning and you are still focusing on her when in truth you have probably settled for the comfortable and easy in life. Including her.

yeah that happened to me too, i actually did cry at work once which was really embarrassing and stupid, especially because all of it was my fault for being an asshole

i have no idea what will help you, but time healed everything for me. i grew up a little bit, realized my problems were stupid and now im much more level headed and wary about entering emotional relationships
