A coworker/friend of mine committed suicide a few months ago and his funeral should be coming up soon. Everyone at work is suppose to go. But I'm too anxious to go because my old manager will be there.
I know or I fear that she hates me a lot right now too. Mainly because she's been trying to hook me up with her roommate and I've been ignoring him and I guess it hurt him a lot. He's also been telling lies about me to her so she won't ever take my side.
She's the type of woman to gossip so I will get super anxious while I'm there. I also feel like I will burst into tears seeing my friend's body and dealing with the anxiety from her.
Would it be disrespectful if I don't go?

firstly it's the right thing to do
secondly, if you don't you will only fuel her hatred for you more and she might even turn your coworkers against you out of spite. Since you didn't show up, they might very well judge you for that

I've been to a shit load of funerals in my life, and i can tell you they never get easier, but you should go. Even if you have to be outside for most of it because that's the last time you'll be able to be there for them, and I'm sure you'd want the people you care about to be there when it's your turn.
And if your former manager tries to start shit with you at your friends funeral she's a cunt deserving of death
