How do I stop being so depressed? I want to die.

I work a 9 to 6 job which bores me to death and commute for hours. My bad anxiety is pure torture. I live in a polluted and cold city. I am lonely.

No matter what I do, or think about the future, I end up thinking "what does it all matter anyway?" I'm trying to make some money online to hopefully travel in the future and escape the rat race, but the reality of how rare it is to make it is depressing.

Just the thought of life being like this for several more decades...I really don't want to live. Every night I hope I will die in my sleep.

I don't know what to do, just want people to talk to I suppose
>>
Studies do show that loneliness can lead to depression. Try to join clubs where you can socialise and make friends.. maybe sports? or volunteering?

Go out and talk to people, isolation and stagnation can lead to depression. It will be hard at first but in steps you can learn to be chill around people.
>>
>you don't like your job
Move, get a better education, or make friends and try to get a foot in the door somewhere.

Having things worth having takes effort on your part. Don't mind your current conditions? Keep doing the same thing. Want things to change? Engineer your own future.

>cold polluted city
might be your problem..

anyway you could head out to a tropical environment or a nice Mediterranean type climate.. depending where you live and how much you have

trip to hawaii or arizona/california might be what you need. (im from the US).. could also go down to mexico if you're feeling FEISTY

Change of environment has always helped me personally.

Also, eat healthier.. instead of frozen pizzas have a wrap with veggies and chicken.. instead of having candy have some raspberries..

drink more water

get out of your current situation.

I'm not really isolated. I'm around people all day at work. There isn't a moment I have privacy.

>>18038311
I don't have enough money to move. I just got this job too. It is my ultimate goal though.

>>18038392
I think the part that would depress me is that even if I take a holiday to a nice place, eventually I'll have to come back. It's busting my ass being miserable so I can have a few days off a year.

I also work out a lot and eat well. The gym is the only thing that makes me happy
>>
>>18038414
Why do you have to go back? You could move there.. even if you don't live normally some people live in vans some people work their asses off to pay a 1500K apartment each month.. maybe itll take more savings but you are never stuck in that situation unless you truly believe that you are. I recommend a move!
>>
>>18038213
Change your job then. I don't mean today, but start working towards it. There is work that doesn't suck out there.

Other anon is right, loneliness is a big cause of depression. I'm not talking about your co-workers, spend some time with your friends/make some.

You're right that life doesn't have a particular meaning which is why you should try and get yourself to a place where you can enjoy it.
>>
>>18038213
I can kinda feel you.
I'd say I'm in a similar situation, I've cut off a lot of people (intentionally unintentionally, if that makes sense).
I want to change also, but I always end up relapsing if I try, like there's no real point and it's futile.
My advice would be to try your hardest to make the most of it, start slow like talking to more people, or doing something that occupies your time.

I wanted to make a thread myself, but I'll ask here.

Let us say I'm the same as op.

But socializing is just impossible as far as I'm concerned.

I tried all I could (I'm 24 now), people just don't seem to see me as a "friend", I have literally 0 social life outside of coworkers.

I can think of many reasons as to why.
So if I go to these places, how would you say I should do to interact as well as I can.

TAKE ACTION.

Change your life by CHANGING YOU LIFE, not by thinking about how things could be.

I know it sounds harsh, that's not my intention here, but thats how you change a life, through action, not thought!

Yes, thought has it's moment, but excessive thoughts is the reason for suffering...
Think with me, the mind is a tool of the human. Every tool has a moment to be used, an object to be used on and a person to use it. Lets say we over use a hammer... It will break, it won't make the pin pierce the wall and it will also hurt the hand that holds it.

All you who feel depressed should TAKE ACTION. WHATEVER ACTION that differs from what you've been doing. Have you been at home too much? Go out more! Go to the park and chill there. Too Litle? stay a little longer. Enjoy your sleep, talk to your relatives.

Do you have too much free time? Fill it with stuff. You can create your own hobbie and use it not only for fun, but for improvement and even for money-making.

The thing is... THINKING too much is what keeps you still, no matter the thought. ACTION is what generates changes.
I say this a lot: "If the world is a program, it's language is action". ACT, my friends.

And for some support and insight on what I just said, in a... lighter way... please read The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

PS -> I must add that if you can't act, being it because you don't find motivation or confidence for it, you all should consider looking for counseling, psychologists are real help on this cases. If you wish faster results, look for hypnotherapists.

Save 200k and move to SEA

You should be able to grow your powerful american bucks into the local communit by investing in business and whatever

plus SEA has a lot of waifu materials and actually serve their man
>>
Can't you just treat your career as a competitive sport? That's what I do to make it fun. Stop looking at money as a necessity but just points.

People who complain about their jobs are like the lazy kids in gym class barely trying to even play the game.
>>
>>18038707
eg. if you're making $50k aim for $100k within X years, if you're making $100k aim for $200k, etc.

Or just go all out and aim for $500k or higher - we all know most jobs are easy that's why people get bored and depressed over them. When you go all out and become a businessperson instead of just an employee following orders it becomes more fun
