I've tried that, but isn't that just covering your self hatred? Just hanging around those "like yourself" to just ignore you're different. Being different isn't the issue, it's the fact that if you are different people cast you away,especially over something as stupid as race. Like hate me because I don't have the some hobbies as you or world views, not over something that has no determinate in who I am.

Do you honestly think people hate you purely based on the color of your skin? I'd venture a guess that the vast majority of people who've ever crossed paths with you haven't given a shit.

This problem lies within you, and it's yours to deal with. Get help if you need it, identity crisis is a powerful, terrible thing, but you need to see it for what it is before you can tackle it.

Not assigning such importance to arbitrary characteristics would be a good start.

Think the problem is more being comfortable with you, not the race. I'm mixed (half Asian half black), and I love both sides of me. Of course sometimes we wonder what it's like in the other side but I never hated my ethnicity, just the lack of understanding/ tolerance others have for it. Even if I was full black or vice versa my fellow peers would hate me for being awkward or not -insert whatever race enough here- because I don't act like typical people. I act like me. I say find others who are different or others who can appreciate your uniqueness.

I honestly doubt your race is the only reason you hate yourself. As another Anon said, how you perceive yourself is up to you, even if others are dicks about it.

There must be people willing to look past your looks. There always are. Open your eyes and give them a chance to get to know you.

No? It can be a huge relief to be among people who shares similar traits, issues, etc...

That would make sense, but you can't escape racism or general obnoxiousness, OP. You'll always face situations where it blows up in your face. But you don't need to face it alone, and you can with time, luck, and by standing up for yourself find people who will not use that against you. Know your real friends, etc...

I'm half arab/white. Most people take me for full arab until they hear me talk. As you've probably experienced yourself, a lot of people feel a certain irritation when they hear a non-white person speak somewhat mannered and 'intelligently', (which shows the heart of the racism complexes anyway...). I'm also not fitting in any racial groupings on campus, work etc.

I know it may sound utopian or unrealistic in manny regards, but my honest advice would be to focus on becoming stronger than anyone around you, both mentally and physically. I learned that humans are most of all opportunists who've become so conditioned by our society into pathetic weaklings who flog from one pole to the other, depending on which promises the most lucrative.

Take up regular exercise. Become the strongest version of yourself. Stop depending on others. Go the way alone and take the extra work load. It is hard and exhausting, but in the end you will get used to it and become a strong, independent, free thinking individual who possesses the resources to face the world on his own. This is something that only few people can do. People will never fully accept you because they are bound by their own limitations and cannot advance beyond their contained mind. Some of them will eventually recognise your persona and try to flog towards you, as they see the potential gain in socialising with someone who can get shit done on his own.

tl;dr: Work on yourself. Become strong. Never rely on social groupings, especially those founded on race. Life is hard as a bastard child. Face it.

Not as much as the media would have you believe. You see mulattos and interracial couples every where on TV, in music, in porn, but they're actually pretty rare. In actually, OPs problem is quite common with mixed kids. Not enough of one, not enough of the other. Not really either one.
