Has anyone here been on Fluoxetine? If so, what were your experiences like?
It's been sitting on my shelf for around a week. I'm terrified to take it. I'm scared that something will go wrong and I'll get worse, have more suicidal thoughts, and tear my family apart. I kind of want to keep trying to battle my depression through hard work and self-improvement, but it's not working.
Should I start taking it? What is Fluoxetine like?

I actually had a lot of fun taking Fluoxetine.
I wish I was taking it right now

What did you find fun about it?

Life was great. Take it, Got me out of depression
lower doses didn't make any difference
higher doses made me emotionally numb
do it anon, at worst you won't feel any different

Anon, put it this way. Without taking it, there's almost 100% chance nothing will change.

How long did it take for it to have noticeable affects on you? Will it change who I am?
Bump, on the fence of taking it

what is there to say, everyone reacts to it differently
for me it did absolutely nothing, no positives or negatives

Were you given a new medication?
I used to be on it. At first it helped immensely. But I guess I started gaining a tolerance to it, or something, because my doctor kept having to prescribe a higher dose. Eventually I just started feeling less and less emotions and didn't feel like myself. I quit taking it, and have been through some rough times, but now I don't feel that I need medication for my depression. I'd recommend at least giving it a try. If you end up not liking it, you can stop.

yeah, its pretty much trial and error until you find one that works
