So... I recently graduated with a BS in Biology, and I have a 12 month contract offer from Pioneer, but it's 13$ an hour, when I'd really prefer 14$. Is my preference unreasonable? Should I keep hunting?

Take it and keep looking until you find a direct hire job. Temp/contract work sucks, but it is easy to find.
Its a doggie doggie world out there with temp work. . Temp agencies won't give you any loyalty, so you owe them none. Don't be afraid to quit with no notice if you find something better.
Take it and ask if they can do a pay review 6 months in

I feel like that would look bad if I dropped out mid-contract.

I'll keep that in mind. I have to say yes or no tomorrow.

Idk what the fuck pioneer is. But if it's a big enough company, they'll just ask one of the hundred people trying to get that job if they want $13 an hr. So yeah you should probably keep looking, if 1 dollar an hour is that big of a deal to you.
