I had a similar issue. My therapist says I'm too hard on myself. I put sex on a pedestal. I made having sex an accomplishment (lost my virginity at 27) instead of treating it as what it is, play.

OP I have a very similar issue actually. I've only had "sex" once (sex in quotes since I wasn't hard enough to finish), but I couldn't keep it up no matter what. What are you doing when you try to actually initiate sex? Hard question to answer I know, but it is insanely common to lose your boner unless you are doing something that is a turn on. For example, if I have trouble getting it up I grab a chick and lay her on her side facing away from me. I kiss her neck, feel her boobs, feel her up anywhere I like. In no time I have a boner. Start having sex in that position, then move to whatever other position and go from there.

Problem people seem to have when they just start having sex is they do all their foreplay, or skip it completely, and then decide "okay, its time for sex". They awkwardly take off clothes and get into position. That is fine if you are 16 with a steel dick and seeing some of the first tits you have ever seen, but 20 sets later and 10 years later and your dick loses interest in about 10 seconds flat.
