My friend was cooking a plantain and as they flipped one of the slices, it slipped and then splashed oil on their forearms.
What is the best way to treat burns?
>>

Calling an ambulance or a doctor.

run under cold water and treat with OTC burn cream. If it blisters up go see a DR
>>
You can get burn ointments, if it blisters make sure not to pop it or else you will be dealing with an infection and a burn

Calling an ambulance or a doctor if you are a normal person

If you put mustard on it, it'll hurt less

Gf put tom's fluoride free toothpaste on it (bc it's basically peppermint oil) after running it under cold water for a while, but she still has a few blisters. It's eased the pain a lot. Not an emergency situation.

lots of cold water. lots
don't put any shit on it, especially shit that could stick to it
>>
>>18021910
Those are second degree burns, you'll be fine. Don't pop the blisters.
>>
What kind of recipe did he use?
>>
>>18021910
Use cling wrap to cover it it doesn't damage the skin and doctors can see under it without removing it.
>>
Get some burn ointment and some wrap, try to keep the blisters from popping, they'll heal faster and be less likely to scar.

Cold water actually makes blisters worse, but I know it feels good. Next time, try pickle juice. It feels just as good, but it helps keep the damage low.

apply honey to it. make sure it's the real stuff, not that fake sugar pumped stuff you get in supermarkets.
I've used honey on all of my burns, it' s a great antiseptic and it helps heal the skin.
