I've recently turned down sex with some "normal girls". I've gone to escorts lately and found that I enjoy it more than dealing with normal girls for various reasons, and one of them is because I know that normal girls are way more likely to have unprotected sex than higher end call girls. I understand that it's possible to get various STDs even when using condoms, but since escorts force their clients to use them whereas normal girls are generally very unlikely to use them at all I imagine being with an escort is actually somewhat safer. Also escorts don't expect you to go down on them, and I don't want to get gonorrhea in my throat or find out a girl is on her period and now I've got HIV. I've seen girls get fucked IRL by multiple dudes without condoms various times, they don't even ask if they have condoms on them. On the other hand, every time I've been with an escort they had condoms with them and made sure that I was wearing one.
Is this a somewhat realistic way of looking at safe sex?

I don't have statistics to back up my claims, but I don't think your reason is correct. A prostitute will have sex way more often than most girls and with WAAAY more partners, so their likelihood of catching an STD should be much higher, even if they wear condoms.
And I imagine most people who have casual sex would also wear condoms.

That's not how periods work. They aren't fresh blood, they're shedded tissue from the lining of the uterus.
Anyways, the numbers are against you OP. Prostitutes fuck multiple men a day. They will outnumber any regular girl by hundreds, thousands of men. Condoms don't protect you from diseases 100%, so having sex with thousands of men makes that 2% chance of contracting with a condom very likely. And certain STDs can be transmitted with unprotected oral sex on men anyways, like herpes.
You're also contributing to human trafficking when you use prostitutes.
