I got robbed by some people I know. The problem is that what got robbed, a rubber bag that belonged to my brother, has weed in it so the police can't get it back.
How can I get it back? My brother will be so pissed. So far one of them confessed that some other guy has it. I had no beef with him before and he kind of liked me. I can try getting some mutual friends to manipulate him into giving it back, but I'm not sure.
It got robbed because it was on the table and when their "gang" came in one guy nabbed it and they left with it.
Fuck the weed. Leave the weed out of it. Tell the cops you got assaulted by the gang. Then they will investigate, shake up the kids and probably find the pot or other drugs and bust them for it.

After some messaging, apparently one of them threw it out somewhere. Is it hopeless? What can I do?

Haven't you heard? Snitches get stitches. Also: you are fucked. The cops aren't stupid enough not to see through this shit since they run into it all the time. They'll immediately assume birds of a feather flock together. Probably know it'll be about something with which you have no recourse.
That weed is tuition for a semester at Common Sense Community College. Don't put valuable shit in arm's reach, especially if you invite people the world would be better off without. I've lived in shit holes my whole life growing up, and that's a lesson I learned by the time I was 12.
>inb4 I didn't invite them in myself
They were in your home and it wasn't a B&E. Whatever factors caused that are on you.

Popo here. Pretty much this. You can make a call and report it as a strong arm robbery if you want, but given the delay and how undoubtedly shady your ass is going to be during the interview, even a first day probie is going to know you're lying about something. If they recover it, the cops will know it's your weed. Most likely though, they'll tell you what that poster just did, stop hanging around with shit heads.
I got the shit I need back. I talked to the people and they gave me directions to where I left it and I found on the sidewalk.
The stuff inside it was gone, but that wasn't what I cared about. I didn't lose much. Thanks for this good advice though, if I'm in a situation where I'll need your advice I have it now.
