I've found over the years that the only things I'm good at are writing and politics.
I'm not a big fan of writing, even though I'm relatively good at it. But, I am very passionate about politics and have been told by countless people that I should get involved.
Is this hard? How do I begin? Is this a stable career choice?

You usually start in a certain partys youth club, then you become chairman of the youth club. Thats the first step.

Or.. thats one way of doing it.

Is it even worth trying, though? I graduated from Appalachian State, not some expensive school like Harvard or Yale.
shitposting about da joos on /pol/ doesn't make you good at politics
Two ways to do it. Focus on writing and shift into writing about politics. Or focus on politics and shift into writing about politics.
My old roommate works for NBC on one of their political shows. He had the same goals. But what he did was major in journalism I think. And I remember him having to write about sports, climate change, a local shooting, investigative reporting on tap water. Now he does political stuff exclusively. Very rare to get your dream job from the start.

How would you transition from professional journalism to running for public office/helping with a campaign?
