26 here. Been on it roughly a month. I am not very bald, just noticed some moderate thinning in the crown and mid scalp and I flipped a shit. Hoping I can keep my hair for a couple decades longer; some guys can maintain for life on fin. Your results in the first year are a good indicator of whether or not you'll respond well to the drug hair-wise.

No sides so far, except maaaaybe thinner semen, but it's hard to tell. I've noticed my semen being watery at various points in my life before I even knew about this drug. Dick works fine. Practically split my fuckbuddy in half a few days ago. My libido has been shot this past weekend but I attribute that more to the extreme stress of just finding out my recent ex has been fucking a ton of guys without protection (wew lad).

I was scared at first but I did my homework and read the studies, as well as the horror stories. The scientist in me (STEM background) came to the conclusion that side effects are pretty unlikely, and the serious ones (help my dick fell off etc) are lotto-tier rare. I think many of those guys claiming post finasteride syndrome either had some previous endocrine condition they weren't aware of, or, more likely, they psyched themselves into it and got validated by a community of "sufferers" and quack doctors and ambulance chaser lawyers convincing them they have some rare life-ruining disease.

I have basically had every side effect they claim for this drug at points in my life where I wasn't even taking it, just from worrying about it (try and get hard while worrying about your erection, it won't work).

Give it a try. There's a 99% chance you'll feel fine, and if you don't there's a further 99% chance you'll get better when you stop. Or just shave your shit off and move on with life, I guess.

Those clinics are garbage. There's a chance you'll never even SEE a doctor during the whole process. You just get a hack job done by technicians (including anesthesia which can KILL YOU if they fuck it up, and they do sometimes).

I was so worried about my hair loss and now I'm confident again knowing I'm doing what I can to slow/stop/reverse it.

Eh my parents are both doctors and just wrote me a prescription. I kind of wished I had gotten my bloodwork done before starting just in case, but I'm not too worried about it. Fin actually raises your testosterone, although it marginally increases estrogen as a result. I take mine with 50mg zinc just to be a mild aromatase (enzyme that converts test to est) inhibitor.

Personally I was gonna go to a derm or hair loss specialist for an analysis of my balding pattern (to see how bad it was likely to get), they can do what's called a miniaturization analysis where they look at your scalp with a magnifier to see which hairs are shrinking (that's how we bald, our follicles produce smaller and smaller hair each cycle) and tell you which areas are likely to go next. From there I was going to get a prescription and then talk to a GP or an endocrinologist before starting, but I asked my mom and she was like "oh I'll just write you a prescription don't worry about it, I have patients who've been on it for years"

It's worth noting that millions of men have been taking propecia or proscar (which is 5x as strong) for prostate issues since before they knew it grew hair and there is no proscarhelp.com full of dudes claiming their dicks went limp. Sides are real but they're rare and I frankly don't believe in the permanent "syndrome."
