Disregarding the "popular" for a moment, let's focus on "acquiring validation and worthiness" first. Having a successful career and having loads of friends aren't the only options of getting a sense of fulfillment and self-worth.
Try to find meaning in the small stuff you do.

In a more practical sense: Go do some volunteer work.
That'll give you a sense of worthiness and also surround you with people to validate that worthiness.

Stop being a loser for one. No one likes an unemployed bum. For you I'd say your only shot is doing something so terrible you end up the headline of CNN for a month because your case is that fucking bad.

Talk to people.

We can't cure your trust issues, social anxiety and inexperience with social interaction with a couple of well-written posts. Work towards accepting your shortcomings and try to work with them, instead of against them.

Also, confidence isn't a goal that can be reached by endlessly piling effort into trying to get there. Confidence is a by-product of when you're able to be content with what you do.
