Sup guys, I'll not bother you with the details, but basically, here's the situation:
I have been unable to move on from ex after a few months, and it's negatively impacting my life. Just recently, she started going out with someone else and now I realize I can't deal with having her in my life (we have a lot of mutual friends).
I want to unfriend her, unfollow, etc, just remove her from my life while I get my shit in order. We have a lot of mutual friends, and to be honest, I feel like I should at least video chat and explain what I'm doing and why. I'm partially salty she broke up with me via message, but yeah.
TLDR: Should I tell my ex I'm removing them and trying to move on, or let it run through the grape vine?

This is normal, you really don't have to make a thing out of it at all. Remove her from your social media, do your best to avoid parties she's going too, stuff like that. You obviously can't completely "delete" someone from your life, and it would be a mistake to make it overtly awkward for your mutual friends.
So I think you really shouldn't call her up and tell her you're "removing her," that's overly dramatic and it makes it really clear you're not over her. But if you just avoid her until you're feeling better, people will understand.

My situation is pretty shit since I don't have many friends she doesn't know so it's a huge undertaking basically.

Just wanted to say: hang in there.
It's been almost a year since my ex broke up with me and still I think of her almost every day. It doesn't make it easier that we share almost 90% of the same friend group here in town. Sometimes I wish it just never happened.
Stay strong, focus on yourself, on improving yourself and what you want to get out of life.
You'll get there, man. And I hope someday I will, too.

Good luck, friend. It hurts and it sucks but I don't regret it. I learned so much and the pain will be worth it eventually. Maybe in a twisted way she found out what she really wants after I fucked up, so I guess I hope she's happy, regardless of how sad and pissed I am right now.
