Person A is naive and will probably fail but Person B should probably try to help him instead of shitting on him out of the gate

Person B is an asshole. It's like Person B's entire motivation is to try to shit on someone else. With that sort of extreme negativity, I would just dump this person as a friend or acquaintance. B looks like an insecure, miserable twat that will just try to drag down everyone around them.
