How do i become a more disciplined person adv? Throughout my life my willpower and discipline have been subpar, i have acknowledged this and would now like to change it. How do i go about this? How does one strengthen their resolve and commit to things they want to do? If i could stay committed my life would improve significantly. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Same here.I keep making promises I can't keep and then even though I have the opportunity to succeed , I let my self and anybody that cares about me down.

In short, by doing it.

Make goals, accomplish them, repeat.

In my case, I used to view things as challenges.

"I don't have the energy to do that right now" turns into "I wonder how fast I could do this?"

Eventually, it just becomes nature.

What becomes difficult is deciding which commitments are worth keeping.

Fixed that for you.

It's probably not really you that's the problem, it's the lack of meaningful and attainable goals that the modern world gives us. Everything has been conquered now, every new field discovered. If you're not literally a genius you will never make a contribution to mankind that is actually significant, and furthermore, you're no longer forced to work just to sustain yourself. Work is now something only done to get material things and praise from others to prop up one's ego but in reality it means slaving away for a few privileged individuals who are the only ones who really have any sort of control over their own destiny.

I dont need discipline for a job, i completely agree with you about the current state of working. My goals mainly include getting fit before i get insulin deficiencies or staying focused on school.
