Quick question. Does anyone here believe that sexuality is a choice? Or does everyone believe that it's irrefutable and locked in for life?
I'm not convinced that choice exists at all

its a bit like your tastes OP. the first time i had a beer it was disgusting. now i love beer.
some people love beer the first time they try it. some never do, or will claim certain beers are shit and that others are better. some beers are generally more popular than others for no real reason.
to sum up, its generally not a choice. if you're going ot hate something you're going to hate it. sometimes its an acquired taste.
my sexuality is that way but in reverse. i was pretty fucking gay til recently, but the more i fool around with women the more i start to like it. acquired taste.

So basically it's whatever.
Not too sure about it being a choice, but I do think sexuality is capable of changing (nothing drastic) if influenced by certain things. Like watching certain kinds of porn will start to influence you, whether it be in a bad way or a good way.

Cutting deep on adv. honestly it boils down to preference in my eyes. I prefer women over men. I don't prefer men at all. I prefer women completely. It's that black and white to me. Idk about others though. There are too many sexual identities and genders that tumblr created I can't keep up.

there's actually a large trend of men who come out as gay way later in life who claim to have little to no homosexual attraction when they were younger.
they are generally pretty 'experienced' men in terms of sex and the idea is that you get bored of most anything female and turn to men at some point just to add kink.

let it put it like this.
I wasn't into tranny porn before coming to 4chan...

the whole idea is stupid since they categorize themselves not really by gender but by what they like, specifically in sexual relationships. They just use it to justify their weird sexual needs. All in all, it"s fucked up. If you like ice cream, you're a dude who likes ice cream, not a vanillaphallic-gender-gay-man

some people feel strongly that they're born a certain way and then they have the ability to choose to ignore this or not. It's a toughie really. People like what they like. I think it's both a choice and something biological.

I don't necessarily think it's a choice, but I think society has been too quick to rule nurture out of the equation in favor of the "born this way" slogan. This is one reason gay adoption still gives me pause, desu.
I used to be really gay as a kid, then later I had no interest in other human beings as a teenager, and now I crave the d. I might still go lesbian for some girls but I think I'm kinda selective with women in comparison to men.
I feel straight as fuck this year.

but if you can turn gay despite having straight parents than the sexuality of your parents nurturing you isn't exactly relevant.
and even if nurture can make you gay, should you not be allowed to parent just cuz your kid can turn out gay as opposed to all the other things (criminal, drug addict, rapist, anything really) that he can turn out as that nurture influences?
even if nurture does make you gay, that doesn't suddenly make it wrong.
