A friend of mine made a VERY generous offer, accepting would make me feel uncomfortable and so would be refusing.
I dunno what to do.
Mostly I don't like the idea of feeling in debt with another person.

He wants to give me a car for pretty much free, It's cheap but it's not a piece of trash.

Think about giving something back in the future that doesnt mean much for you but he could appreciate, its up to you i would take it personally.

If I manage to sell it later maybe I could slpit with him the money I guess.
But that would make me uncomfortable too.

If they are agreeing to sell you the car cheap, then that's all there is to it.
Ask if there are any strings attached, it's unusual for someone to do something for nothing in return.
You won't be in debt to your friend unless you owe them something as a part of the transaction, but if you feel that uncomfortable with it, don't do it, friends/family and money don't mix.

Nope. Free.
And he's in a particualr position, he basically doesn't need the car anymore and couldn't get rid of it.
