It's pretty much me calling up people to see if they need life insurance.

I did a similar thing, door to door sales
hard work, shit pay
do it if you have nothing else, looks good on your resume, people respect that you did it for a while

I'm not familiar with EU military, but in the US, the military is a GREAT career path as long as you pick a job that will look good on a resume once you're out. Good on you!

Have you been looking for a job for a while? Applying to restaurants and such? Taking the life insurance job wouldn't be the worst thing in the world (especially if you're decent at it), but I cannot stress enough that life insurance sales is widely known for it's shittiness. I hate to say it to you, but if it's anything like it is here in the US, you weren't offered that job because of your experience or qualifications. They'll offer it to literally anyone who might take it.

When you go to get an interview for the RM they will want to see you being active and motivated in life otherwise you don't show enough potential.

As others have said, it's better than nothing, but it's not easy work, and $16k isn't a lot. You'll probably have to hit a certain commission or be put on an action plan, which will make the work life very stressful.

I'd strongly suggest you look for other options.

you're doing "cold calling" and yes it sucks and yes you will be on a quota = you have to have a certain number of calls & certain number of visits & sales etc

but if you have schmoozing skills you can make boo koo $$

so try it a few months & see what happens
