Im a simple guy who likes a peaceful quiet life I completely abstain from drugs and alcohol because I see them as self destructive habits that are unnecessary to have fun. It frustrates me quite a bit to see that the lifestyle I like to live is ridiculed and tossed aside in favor of hedonism. How do I become more tolerant of modern culture which glorifies most of the things I don't want to be a part of, I'd like to have friends but it seems like people like myself are becoming rarer and rarer so I guess my only option is to learn to live and let live

Live and let live is really all you can do. It's how we are now. Some of these things in moderation are okay and not self destructive imo. There's a difference between enjoying a good red wine with dinner and binging every weekend on vodka cruisers.

drugs and alcohol are not remotely modern culture. they phase in and out sure, but they were popular in the 80s, they were popular in the 70s, they were popular in the 60s, they were popular in the 50s, and before that they were even considered legal and normal.
