Is it okay to be 28 and have no idea what to do with your life?
In a few months, I'll have been an adult for a decade, and I'm genuinely terrified.
Actually, you had to be an adult at 18.
I met my dad for the second time and he told me that he's been happy with his life despite never doing anything with it. He works at a cashier at a strip club making minimum wage but his coworkers have been his second family for 20 years. He said that he's actually happy to go into his job even though he makes no money. Don't put high standards on yourself if it doesn't make you happy, you can be happy living a simple life if that's your style.

I just wish I'd given up before I wasted so much of my life going to college.

The answer to "is it ok" when discussing how you live your life, unless you're hurting other people, will always be "yes." You do you.

Get a blue collar job with coworkers you like. It's a special kind of friendship, bonded over hardwork. It's like being family and friends with people you have little in common with, yet bond at the same time.
I'm 29 and pretty much feel the same way so yes its fine. I think the idea of dedicating your life to something is stupid. It feeds so well into the indentured worker drone mentality that pervades society.
That's not to say you shouldn't do it but that you shouldn't feel pressured into it. It should be something you want.

You can do whatever the fuck you want with your life. If it boils down to doing nothing in particular, then that's just fine too. Life is relatively short, just do things you feel good about and that make you feel good about yourself, and you're already doing better than most people.
