So I'm pretty much as big of a failure as you can be without being NEET. How can I get past the pitfall of the "fuck it" attitude and get myself out of this hole?
Get uncomfortable in your life. Like upend everything in a way that either you do what you need to or you go without any satisfaction.

Could you be more specific?

Well your attitude is easy to have when all of your needs are met. Do you eat well? Sleep well? Live in a nice warm house? Is it your house? Your food? Your heating? If it's not then you should feel a little discomfort in knowing you aren't ultimately in control of your comfort.
If it is all yours and you earned it then you can justify your attitude. If not then take those comforts away. Move somewhere new and unfamiliar and scare yourself.

I have all those things, but only just barely. I'm pretty much always struggling.
But, yeah I was thinking about something like what you said. Like why not just buy an RV and drive around the country, picking up temporary or seasonal jobs when I need some cash but just keep moving. It sounds fun and my lease is up on my apartment in February.

bump. Just looked at prices for RVs. Doesn't seem very doable. Might pull the back seats outta my car and make a bed. Only thing is I need to think of places to shower.
Do you get any annual leave from your job? What about getting 2 weeks off and just getting a taste of it first.

Cant really afford to miss work. It's all or nothing.
