I am a psychology major soon to be finishing up my second year of university. I have grown to dislike most of it honestly and I am debating on switching to a philosophy major. Thoughts?

are you independently wealthy ?
what kind of job do you think you can get with a philosophy major ?

Independently not really. My parents, although not together anymore, are wealthy though so money/student debt is not an issue for me. I'd like to go to law school, but preferably medical school since I am taking the pre requisites required. I basically just need to finish a bachelors degree. There are no jobs with a BA philosophy degree
Philosophy is a joke degree. Switch your major to sociology, biology, or at least something respectable that is in the same vein of what you're already doing.

Why is it a joke degree?

Because no conventional job would want a philosophy degree. It also is well known as the easiest major and is basically a cop out to say you graduated but you have no job goals. It's basically worse than not even having a degree since you actually paid money for it.

It is not well known as the easiest major, definitely not, at least not here. Things like English and philosophy are often taught by professors and TA who mark subjectively and with bias. Getting straight A's in philosophy is much more difficult than many other subjects. It's also known to be the best major if you intend on going to law school. Philosophy majors score highest on the LSAT.

why would you major in philosophy? your major is what you intend to do with your life, not somethign you just have an interest in. you can't do anything with a philosophy degree.
its okay to take classes, its okay to take a lot of classes, its okay to even take extra classes involving philosophy becausei ts a lot of fun to learn about and great for self improvement, but its not what you get your major in.
