Hey, guys.
I get extreme depression during the Winter time. It's incredibly tiring and time consuming.
Does anyone with experience of this have any advice to overcome this?
I can overcome it the rest of the year but the Winter time is particularly challenging.
Google is your friend here. There are loads of pages of information on how to deal with this. Don't wait here hoping for a few strangers to give you half assed ideas that after waiting 20 minutes when you could get this answer on google in like 10 seconds.
Some advice is just better left asking google instead of people

That is because you are getting less sun light during the winter and sun light gives you important vitimans.
Watch the Albert Camus school of Life vid on YouTube and read his books all their vids are good just that one and the Lao Tzu one helped me the most to live a more happy and fulfilling life :)
Same, my mom disownes me and my dad has severe skitzophrenia where he's verbally abusive and violent. So it's like I have no blood related family to spend Christmas with.

This. Make a point every morning to get a good 20min (at least) of sun on your face every day if the sun's out. Do it by the window while you grab coffee or whatever.
Exercise is always good, too. Either go to a gym, take a walk outside, go run or jump rope a bit, whatever.
Also very important, always make a point to have company. Even when you're an introvert, you need a good level of social interaction to keep you from going insane and fall into depressive states that are self-perpetuating. Try not to spend more than a day at home doing nothing.
Eat healthy. You can eat junk if you like, but make sure you have vegetables and lots of water on the side, too. Ideally though, you'd cut the crap completely.
'this it. Anything else is drugs and I'd only recommend them as a last resource.
Additionally, if you have the money, it probably wouldn't hurt to take some vitamins daily. I have since last week and have noticed an obvious increase in mood.
