First thing you gotta do is take them and put them on a scale. A bathroom scale won't have the proper resolution, you're gonna need a scale that measures in grams. Depending on the quantity, you might be able to get away with a kitchen scale.

Next, you should immerse them in water in a graduated cylinder, and then verify a change in the total volume contained therein.

If both of these measurements are positive, then you can confirm that those are, in fact, real mushrooms.
